4 WAYS LAUNCHES STROKE REPORTING SERVICE

According to 4 Ways Healthcare CEO Dr Sanjiv Agarwal, “A stroke can happen any time. It is well accepted that speed of diagnosis is critical so that if treatment is indicated, it can begin in the shortest possible time after the event. Strokes may occur at night when radiology departments have only a small staff to cover A&E needs. What is needed is a direct pipeline to an experienced radiologist any time in the night to give a fast and accurate report so that treatment may begin depending on the type of stroke.” Speed is of the essence in stroke as the treatment regime depends on the radiologist's diagnosis as to the cause of the stroke and what brain tissue can be revived. Following a CT scan, 4 Ways Healthcare's new service, Stroke Image Reporting Service (SIRS) will deliver a report within 15 minutes of receiving the scans from an experienced and trained radiologist. In practice, examination results of stroke victims are passed though the highly secure PACS hub at the Company's headquarters to the home of the duty radiologist, who is always UK trained and based. After the results are read, the report comes back to the hospital in the same way. Dr Agarwal comments, “Speed and experience are critical in stroke. With our new out of hours service, hospitals get a report from trained radiologists any time of the night in the fastest time and at significant cost savings over a duty radiologist or significant time savings over a radiologist on call.”
